UL300 Fire Protection Systems
Most commercial cooking facilities require an automatic fire suppression system to be installed in the exhaust hood above the appliances to suppress fires that may start in the cooking appliances or even in the exhaust hood. Fire Sentry Protection’s technicians are trained in the proper inspection, installation, and maintenance of these systems.
The recent demand for a low-fat diet has profoundly changed the effectiveness of conventional extinguishing agents. Additives which make low-fat oils palatable, coupled with super-insulated deep fat fryers, have rendered most dry chemical agents ineffective for fighting these types of fires. The concern has been so significant that a Fire Suppression Code requirement was enacted calling for new agents and new designs for all systems installed or modified as of November 21, 1994.
Fire Sentry Protection Services, Inc. can survey your system and determine if it meets these new requirements. We can also inspect and maintain your system(s) in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association’s Code 17, 17A and 96.
Our professionally trained and certified technicians will perform the kitchen fire suppression system inspection to meet the local, state, and NFPA codes and insurance company requirements. You will gain peace of mind knowing that your system was expertly inspected to meet the manufacturer’s recommendations. Eliminating false discharges and system failures that cause downtime will be our highest priority.
We will present you with a detailed inspection report and certification tag of your kitchen fire suppression system. If your system is Pre-UL 300, we can do an upgrade or install a new system to meet your needs.
